To coincide with the 2012 Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, OR, Nike was interested in providing a tool for employees to learn more about the people, places and events that helped shape the young brand. A native iPhone app was designed and developed to celebrate Nike’s heritage in Eugene – compiling rich content for many of its original influencers (Steve Prefontaine, Bill Bowerman, Geoff Hollister…) and historic sites where they left their mark (Hayward Field, Pioneer Cemetery, South Eugene High School, Pre’s Trail…). A tiled home screen allowed for fast sifting and sorting of a large amount of content while photo, video and historic information was all available to dig deeper. An integrated events tool also allowed users to add trial events right into their phone’s calendar. See the app in action here..
